Kelly and Her Dad Met John Sandford
This past week Tessa wrote about her personal bucket list, and Kelly has a post coming out next week on the same subject.
All the “bucket list” talk got Kelly and some family members motivated to do a 7-hour round trip driving marathon to meet their favorite author John Sandford.
Kelly’s dad has been reading the Prey books and Virgil Flowers stories for years, and introduced these cop drama novels to Kelly.
The author Q&A and book signing was a fun and jam-packed event. Plus quality time in the car made for great conversations. It was a “bucket list” experience for Kelly and her dad. A definite memory making trip for this Family Footnote writer!
The trip to Mankato to see John Sandford was a definite bucket list item for Kelly, her aunt Joan and myself. I introduced Kelly to Sanford books over 20 years ago. The three of us had a blast discussing all the characters and what questions to ask on the drive up. The meet and greet exceeded all of our expectations. Something every reader should do if they get the chance. Thanks Kelly for getting us all to go, this is how memories are made. Randy
