I learn a lot during the interviewing and writing process, and this magazine article I wrote called: “It’s More Than Horsing Around” taught me so much about equestrian animals, physical therapy options, and the compassion of others.
Shelby Winnail’s story about her role at Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (H.E.T.R.A.) is a wonderful read for the heart and soul. HETRA works hard to help others and make the world a better place through horses and equine therapy. They assist people with brain injuries, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, muscular dystrophy, autism, or any other debilitating diagnosis. This non-profit organization also has a program designated specifically for military veterans.
