We’re Threenagers!
Kelly and I are celebrating three years of blogging, but the celebration is bigger than that!
What We’re Really Celebrating
Yes, it’s exciting to have written about our crazy families for three years, but what’s even more exciting? Meeting and connecting with YOU our readers. After three years, one thing remains to be true: our readers are the very best of the best. Through this blog, we’ve been able to connect with you regarding the Grit you give your children so that they can make it successfully through this roller-coaster of a life. I’ve had fun connecting with women all over who want to Feed Their Fire and awaken the parts of them that were “woman” before they were “mom”. And I’ve absolutely loved being an advocate for teens in What if We Treated Our Teens Like the Children They Are, because those young adults are so near and dear to my heart.
Much like a threenager who we’ve fed, kept safe, and raised with our bare hands, the blog has big plans for itself. As we meander through the web, we keep finding new treasures. Our legs are less wobbly, but we are just as ornery (see our satire if you don’t believe us), craving more challenges like any three-year-old. Kelly and I have started novels, and I’ve begun the terrifying process of getting someone to buy my book. (Seriously…agents…I really love my book…I think you will too!)
The Future
Although these past years have given me opportunities to cross some things off of my bucket list: HuffPost, Grown and Flown, short story, and poetry publications, it’s also given me a future as an author and writing coach. My students were the first humans to inspire me to write, and now, I want to continue that with adults! My new project is A Writer Inside. You, our dear readers, are actually writers in disguise.
Writing down your thoughts makes your place in this world infinite. It helps us each establish something permanent. As a writing coach, I plan to host writing parties with groups of writers (wine/La Croix/journals/pens provided). Midwesterners: I can come to you! See my website for more information on getting your girls together and starting something magical! Single coaching services are also available no matter geography! My plan is to get the country writing. Everyone is the author of his or her own story. It simply takes starting to realize that.
