Summer Writing & Western Life

Writing during the summer months can be a challenge with my kids all at home and needing so much attention. Yet, there are always stories to hear and tales to recap.

My latest article in the Dakota Dunes/North Sioux City Times is one of my favorites. It was a profile piece that captured the essence of living out west and embracing life.

I interviewed someone who grew up on a ranch in South Dakota. She had many wonderful stories regarding growing up in the rural outdoors. From no running water in her childhood home to pulling all night calving shifts, there was definitely a lot of grit to her way of life. There was also a lot of fun and heartwarming harmony.

Kelly, great article in the North Sioux City Times. It was a very interesting read, some of the memories reminded me of the talks I had with Grandpa Eddie and his growing up on the farm back in the day…..nice walk down memory lane.
