Fostering and Mothering

I had the privilege to write a Mother’s Day piece for the Dakota Dunes/North Sioux City Times last week. This publication uses me as a freelancer and through them I am able to interview some of the best people. My piece, Fostering a Loving Home Led to Motherhood, was a joy to write.

This article involved interviewing Tina Tassler who has opened her home to foster children and become a mom in the process. We had a great conversation regarding the calling she and her husband have to foster children in need.

And the need is great. My neighbor who operates a non-profit “foster closet” connected me with Tassler for this story. The Siouxland Foster Closet provides clothing and necessities to foster families. I am in awe of these wonderful individuals and their selfless nature to care for others.
