I have had the pleasure of doing freelance work for the Dakota Dunes / North Sioux City Times weekly newspaper for almost a year now and I love it. The writing experience is great, but I also enjoy interviewing and meeting incredible individuals. Another bonus is that this paper focuses on community and highlighting positive events in the regional area.

This article is about school lunch (sort of)!

My most recent piece features a prominent businessman in the food service industry. To write it, I met with a Mike Cranny of Lunchtime Solutions Inc. who really cares about the lunches and breakfasts at schools. His story gives me a lot more appreciation for my school district’s hot lunch program. Plus, I love hearing how ambitious people made success happen for themselves. Those stories are always incredible and (hopefully) fun to read.
