What Was Here? A Science Article

I was always more of a language arts girl in school, so when a publisher asked me to interview a paleoecologist and then write about it, I was worried. It turns out I learned a lot and all of the science talk was fascinating. Paleoecology examines the ecology of fossil plants and animals. It is a science that can tell us what was here during prehistoric times. My article in the Leader-Courier involved talking with Professor Eric Grimm who has a Master’s Degree and a PhD in ecology.

This article allowed me to learn more about the Ice Age and its impact on the Midwest. I also got a tutorial regarding the early testing of climate models. The whole experience was eye opening and interesting. An abbreviated portion of my written piece can be read by clicking here. To order an issue or subscribe to the paper, check out this link.
